{I heard from the other room a newscaster say these words, in regard to the soon to be former Cardinal Law:
"...his failure to crack down on pedophile priests..."that's the same dark apparatus smoothly functioning that put Bush in the White House that keeps us all locked into this hellbound death rush of short-term economic gain. as though all he really needs to be held accountable for is not being rough and tough and he-man enough to 'crack down' . as though it's just him. as though it wasn't common knowledge. as though it was a misdemeanor that got out of hand and some patriarchal father figure needed to step in and 'crack down'. on what? as though the entire institution isn't corrupt beyond redemption. as though every cardinal in the world isn't equally responsible. as though the pope really does speak for God. my ass. my father's ass in the soft clutch of the parish priest, all those years ago.}
