{can't say 'nigger' unless you are one, but you can ridicule 'white trash' and 'trailer trash' all you want because, well....because uhm......wellll....because they CHOOSE to be what they are. see, black folks is jes born that way, but them re'necks are all just plain ignorant on purpose, and besides they don't have no money, and some o' them niggers is RICH! and politically powerful. the idea that Trent Lott was speaking for a bunch of hillbillies just perpetuates the division that really exists. between the disenfranchised of both colors. Trent Lott doesn't speak for poor whites, although they may share some of his more egregious problems with reality. it's just easier for people to identify poor whites when they seek a scapegoat for racism's existence. easier than pointing to the rich, who benefit not only from the economic slavery that is rampant in the world now, but from the inability of the economic slaves themselves to unite behind anything real. the racism of the poor is only superficially the same as the racism of the wealthy. and it's interesting to see how readily the children of the privileged have taken to the terms 'white trash' and trailer trash' and how horrified they are by the use by a white person of the word 'nigger', though they will use the socially acceptable 'ghetto'. Trent Lott and Jesse Helms aren't assholes because they're racists, they're racists because they're assholes. Jeff Danziger has his blindspots too.}
