One of the illusions perpetrated by the currently dominant economic predators is that any resistance to their predations - I'm thinking of Che Guevara here and especially SubCommandante Marcos and a whole bunch of other folks like that - are primarily and solely interested in establishing an alternative economic system and then acting just like they do. In the case of the Soviet expression of Marxism, and the Chinese expression of Marxism, this was true; the same forces accomplished virtually the same suppression of human vibrancy, the soul that even uneducated young people recognize as more genuine and central to the human experience than any amount of profit measured in numbers.
The preservation of that human soul should be the first thing any system is judged by. It's why we're here.
