Successful prisoners of war wouldn't. We mean McCain in that he made it through - a kind of success, if not the highest form available.
So he would basically be incapable of running a campaign staffed with people who would be dishonest in order to get him elected.
This should go without saying.
It's just the times, how confused everyone is, how dark it looks ahead, how what's beautiful still is set off against that background, of confusion and darkness, and made brilliant.
Speaking of that, why is Obama and race and racism an issue, but the suddenly-everywhere Sarkozy's ethnicity is meaningless?
