According to the World Health Organization, 120 to 130 million women worldwide are circumcised and approximately 2 million girls annually receive the operation. A majority of these girls, including Egyptian girls, receive the milder forms of FGM.

Ω{The debate is joined and moderated by men, for the most part, who are themselves genitally mutilated. The Pavlovian effect of male genital mutilation is so deep, and is in place so early, that the idea of it even existing is treated with scorn and contempt.
Socialization through sub-cortical fear. Complete dominance. Terror in the most vulnerable part of the male body, the center of physical identity.
