As American as Apple Pie I learned something that might have slightly resembled this recipe when I was 12, from a friend of my parents. Being a sugar-deprived preteen, I promptly increased the brown sugar content rather drastically, and I paid no heed to my mother's warnings not to use too much cinnamon. The more the better, I thought. The result was surprisingly popular.
