Idle holiday musings:
Since the object of torture is to get information that the subject of torture wants to prevent you from getting, is it morally better, okay, superior, to use things like drugs and hypnosis or some new psycho-medical-chemical technique that gets under the conscious resistance of the subject without active trauma, and gives you access to the information as if it were freely given?
My guess is most people considering that would say yeah sure fine. Because it's the pain of it they object to, the messiness, not the breaking of the human being.
Which is why we're all stuck at the crossroads, waiting for that long dark limousine.
