Vicki Knafo, who is leading the single mothers' protest campaign, launched an open-ended hunger strike Sunday, saying that she would only stop when Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu agreed to meet with her, Army Radio reported. Three other single parents joined Knafo in the hunger strike. Knafo has been requesting a meeting with the finance minister to discuss alleviating the financial distress faced bysingle mothers following the slashing of their social welfare benefits by the government.
