KUTA, Indonesia A former member of the Indonesian Air Force has confessed to investigators that he assembled the bomb that destroyed the heart of Bali's nightclub district Saturday, killing at least 181 people, an Indonesian security official said Tuesday.

The suspect, who is being held by Indonesian authorities, told investigators that he regretted the massive loss of life, but he has not disclosed who ordered him to make the bomb, according to the security official. The official said the suspect had learned to make explosives while serving in the air force, which later dismissed him for misconduct.


{let's just suppose for a minute that "the heart of Bali's nightclub district" was a place like many others in the world where things other than drinks and loud music were available. things like, oh say... bodies. live warm bodies for rent. brown-skinned bodies. let's say maybe there are many many poor brown-skinned people who are sick and tired of watching their sisters and girlfriends and sons and daughters get caught up in the fantasy flesh trade. catering to scum with money.
oh but that doesn't justify blowing up other people's property and the loss of all those lives right? because that would be wrong. they should go to the United Nations. or write a letter to the president or something. which president though huh? same people that would give up all their civil liberties to protect Samantha Runnion won't see that coming at them from the 'other side'.
the idea that there may be something more to all this than inferior people being jealous of the privileges of their superiors is just too too awkward for 'Americans' to get hold of I think. which is too bad. for all of us.}
