Turns out we weren't opposed to country clubs; we were opposed to country clubs with bad wine lists and men in plaid pants. It wasn't a matter of politics, it was a matter of taste. And so we can deplore the plight of the people of Iraq while reclining in seaside hammocks made from fibers grown according to the highest ethical standards by farmers who have formed co-ops to get a wage triple that paid to the farmers who are exploited by the bad people.

That is, they are making $6 a week rather than $2 a week.
